Gemotions

The rhythmic clinking of the wind chimes accompanied the gentle tapping of my fingers on the keyboard. I was finally making progress on the novel, and the words flowed easily. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled my small office. A car door slammed outside.

I looked up. There was Mrs. Davis. She smiled broadly, and her hand held something flat, and papery.

"Hello, John," she said cheerfully. "I've been planning to install a fence…"

I nodded my head slowly, and invited her to join me.
